Ingram Family

If you haven’t heard by now, there was a terrible storm around Granbury, TX last night that brought tornados through several neighborhoods. Sadly, one of the homes that was destroyed belonged to the sister of one of our Houston beer nerd family, Brian Ingram. (@bRYEian)

As you would expect from Houstonians and craft beer people, an outpouring of support has spread through Twitter today and last night. I thought it would be helpful if I organized a time and a place for anyone who wants to donate goods/$$/hugs so that his sister’s family can start recovering as soon as possible.

I’ve decided to head to Haymerchant on Sunday from around 1 until tbd and set up shop there.

Below is an email from Brian with a preliminary list of things his sister’s family might need. I will update this page if/when they discover anything else they need.

Jeff,

First off, thanks so much man. You don’t know how much it means to me that everyone is willing to help out my family. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Needs: it sounds like they’re working on getting clothes and other immediate need items. Right now my sister, brother-in-law, their 3 kids, and their pets are all staying with my mom so things like small appliances and the like are all taken care of. That’ll be a need later down the road, but for now they’re okay. The most immediate needs are for cash or preferably gift cards. Some GC ideas are Wal-Mart (only store in town…no Target), the pre-paid ones (visa, MasterCard), Kroger, HEB, or anything along those lines. If anyone wants to use paypal they can send it to me at this email address: brian.ingram@earthlink.net. I’ll pass 100% of it along to my family (they aren’t technically savvy and don’t use paypal).

The kids: Madalyn is 18, Caitlyn is 15, and Nathan is 12. They have clothing and toiletries secured but they need school supplies. Nathan is an baseball player and I don’t know if they have/will be able to save his baseball gear. I’ll find that out soon.

Serah and I are trying to make it out to Haymerchant on Sunday as well. I’ll let you know when I find out our plans for Sunday. I can even bring my square if anyone wants to donate via that.

What else…everything is coming in at random intervals so pardon me if this is all disjointed. My phone and email has been blowing up all day today.

Thanks again man. I greatly appreciate what y’all are doing!

Brian.

So that’s that for now. If you have specific questions about how to help or what to donate just leave a comment on this page or tweet at me @astrosguy.

Thanks in advance for everything cause I know how much #craftbeerpeoplearegoodpeople!!
